Days 10 to 12 - from 06/10 to 08/10
I went to Pecatu following the advice of JP, the cousin of a friend who was staying there. Pecatu is located in the south of the island. There are many less tourists than Kuta and the beaches are necessarily more pleasant. Surfers (rather confirmed) enjoyed the waves.
I stayed 3 days there in a hostel with swimming pool. The travelers at this inn have made the place very warm. Everyone is talking to each other and the common space was a real place to live.
Like Kuta, Pecatu is also a place where travelers enjoyed parties and the places for that are pretty cool.
Blocked at the hostel by a whole day of rain, I did not see everything in this area.
I did not go to the Ulu Watu’s temple as that seemed to disappoint many visitors. I, however, enjoyed the beaches.
It should be noted that in this region, we travel mainly by scooter. I did not drive, but I moved as a passenger on the scooters of the other travelers of the hostel.
Nyang Nyang Beach
To be honest, I am not 100% sure of the name of the beach.
The spot was really beautiful. When you arrived there you could see some monkeys and especially a magnificent view from the cliff. The beach is accessible by steps. It is difficult to settle there when the sea is high, unless you settle in one of the cave in the rock. This beach is relatively isolated and its location does not allow to install sellers and shops.
Be careful though, waves and rocks can be dangerous.
Dreamland Beach
Dreamland beach is a large beach on which you feel relatively quiet and undisturbed (note that I come from Kuta, tourist place par excellence) Like all the beaches on the coast, you can admire a beautiful sunset.
Places to go out
I took advantage of my stay here to hang out with other travelers. Single Fin, the box of the corner where we find cocktails at almost European prices is a nice place, huge and open air. However as I am not a big fan of night clubs I did not stay late.
Advices: - To move, think of the scooter, it's the easiest way to move and the traffic is not as intense as Kuta - Pecatu Guest House is a hostel with swimming pool and a large communal area that promotes the exchange with other travelers. A little out of the center, but the beds are comfortable, and this is the main :)
